My name is Melanie, and for as long as I can remember, I’ve always been good at saving money.  Anyone who knows me, knows I hate paying full price and love to find a deal. 

This became especially true when I became a mom in 2009, and quit my job to stay home with my daughter. It was the first time I didn’t have a job or a paycheck coming in, and though I had saved money so I could stay home for a while, I wanted to stretch my savings as long as possible. So I started watching my dollars even more, coupon-clipping and searching for the best deals to get the biggest bang for my buck.

Now even though I’m back to work, I still like to save as much money as I can. My friends always ask me for my tips and tricks for getting discounts, and since I love to help people, I thought why not create a website to spread the wealth even further?  I know many of us are experiencing hard times, and need to watch every penny. So voila. I created SmartySaver.com to share the great deals I find, plus my money-saving tips to hopefully help you stretch your hard-earned buckaroonis. Maybe we’ll all even sock away some savings along the way.

And by now, you may have used or heard about Daily Deal websites like Groupon, LivingSocial, Tippr and more.  If so, you already know what fantastic opportunities these sites provide to save big – sometimes as much as 80% below normal prices – at restaurants, spas, salons and on products, services and fun activities in your city and nationwide.

 You’re also probably starting to get inundated with all the daily deal websites out there–new sites are popping up everyday–but you don’t want to miss the savings. We don’t blame you!  We love these sites and the deals they offer, but it can be overwhelming to get so many emails and spend so much time sorting through to find deals that are really of interest to you.
